HMRC responsibilities

There are some important tax considerations that apply to self-billing Invoices.

Above all, you should NOT create your own invoice. The invoicing will happen automatically via self-billing in Verisae. You should no longer submit invoices by post or email.

Comprehensive contractor costs do not become a self-bill invoice until after final approval by Tesco, when the status of the work order invoice becomes Bill Payment Pending.

Notice that before approval the wording states This is NOT a VAT invoice. Once approved it changes. The date on the approved invoice is the tax point for VAT purposes.

You can print a copy of the final self-bill invoice for your records.
